Steve talking to Granada Reports on Remembrance Sunday 2012 at the recently-refurbished Chorley War Memorial

I have worked with media organisations such as ITV Granada Reports,  BBC TV News, BBC Radio Lancashire and That’s Lancashire TV since 2006, with the bulk of my research and pieces to camera since 2016 being for ITV with well known North West based presenter Paul Crone.

Back in July 2006 I arranged with BBC Television news in the North West of England for them to cover my coach trip to the Somme battlefield, exactly 90 years on from the start of the battle on the 1st July 1916.

I worked with Peter Marshall at BBC TV North West Tonight and later that year they covered my personal trip to Gallipoli battlefields when I went searching for lost graves on the battlefield there.

I have also done a WW1 documentary with BBC Radio Lancashire entitled ‘At last a chance to say goodbye’, aired on Remembrance Sunday 2006 as well as appearing live on their Breakfast Show and on their morning programme hosted by Ted Robbins.

In 2007 I assisted BBC Television ‘Inside Out’ programme with research into the diary of a WW1 soldier that included ‘Shot at Dawn’ items, doing a piece to camera accordingly.

In 2014 I took BBC Radio Lancashire & BBC TV North West Tonight presenter Graham Liver around the Ypres battlefields, doing numerous interviews and pieces to camera and live on radio over two days. This was followed a month later by working for the BBC at their live ‘WW1 At Home’ event at Blackpool.

Also in 2014 I was a contestant on the popular ITV Game Show, ‘The Chase’.
